pochettino quashes ‘unrealistic’ Tottenham Hotspur rumor

Mauricio Pochettino dismissed speculation that he had returned to Tottenham and insisted that returning to North London was “unrealistic”.
The 53-year-old, currently in charge of the U.S. national team, was associated with the Spurs’ vacancy after Friday’s surprise sack of Ange Postecoglou.
Despite winning the club’s first trophy in 17 years with a Europa League victory, Postecoglou removed him from his role.
Pochettino, who worked at Tottenham for five years before being fired in November 2019, has been touted for the job.
However, after the U.S. defeated Connecticut Turkey 2-1, he made it clear that he has no plans to return to the Spurs yet.
“It’s unrealistic today,” Pochettino said. “Look at where I am. Look at where we (his staff behind the scenes) are. The answer is clear.

“I think my name has been on the list since I left in 2019 [of rumours].
“I’ve read the rumor that we are 100 coaches on the list. Don’t worry about that.
“If something happens [in the future]you will definitely see it, but I’m glad at this moment we can’t talk about this type of thing. ”
Argentina took over the U.S. men’s national team in October 2024 and oversaw nine games so far, recording five wins and four losses. Türkiye’s losses marked the team’s third straight loss.
Pochettino is now focusing on preparing for the United States for the 2026 World Cup football match, and they will co-host with Mexico and Canada.
Pochettino led the club to the Champions League final in 2019 in the last match of Totterham and finished second in the Premier League in 2016-17.
