Bukauskas: “How about Vancouver, they are after a center but don’t want to give up too high a price
Just do it. “
NHL Rumors: Alex Tuch and Buffalo Sabers in no rush to sign new contract
Friedman: “Yeah, you know, everyone’s been talking about it. They’ve been trying it for a few months. Really trying to see what’s out there. I did hear in their conversations, they were asked about the first one next year.
This is dangerous. One, this is a good draft. look. They just drafted a player (Brayden) Cootes, who made their team for a couple games anyway, and they were hopeful for him for good reason. They could have traded that pick to Minnesota. They don’t. They kept it. I think he gave them reason to believe it was the right decision in the long run.
Now, you also know this pick, like we said, a very good draft. And, you know, you don’t know where you’re going. I think they also feel like, we added one piece, we can add another. I just heard they don’t want to do it.
Now, I always qualify these things and wouldn’t say they didn’t do it because you never know what’s going to happen. You might get a player that’s under team control long-term and you can say, “You know what, let’s do this.” So I’ve never said never, but I’ve heard, and the sources are very good, that that’s not what they want to do. So far, they’re holding their ground. There is no reason for them to believe they should.
