NBA insiders report Cavaliers are monitoring free agent Victor Oladipo
Just last week, former All-Star Victor Oladipo held a private workout in Las Vegas. Jeremy Woo of Yahoo Sports reported that NBA and European teams were in the meeting.
Victor Oladipo has left the NBA for two seasons. He played for the Miami Heat last time in 2022-23. Recently, Cavaliers insider Chris Fedor reported that Cleveland will “stay opportunistic.” The Cavaliers put together the core of their 2024-25 lineup. Oladipo will be the depth of rotation. Will Cleveland bring opportunities to the 33-year-old?

After a decade of NBA basketball games, Victor Oladipo is returning to the league. In 2013, Oladipo was the second pick for the Orlando Magic, Indiana. Who knows how much damage he has suffered throughout his career and where will he be today? Oladipo’s first severe injury occurred in January 2019, when his right knee had a quadric tendon ruptured. He missed the remainder of the 2018-19 season, a large part of the 2019-20 year.
In the years since the devastating injury, Oladipo has publicly commented on its hardships. This changed the trajectory of his career and it has been an uphill battle ever since. The 33-year-old last played on April 22, 2023. Oladipo played for Miami in the 2023 playoffs but suffered a tear of the pat bone tendon.

This forced Oladipo to miss the entire 2023-24 season. Additionally, he is unable to get the roster in 2024-25. However, he is still paying attention to the return of the 2025-26 season. Last week, Oladipo performed a private workout in Las Vegas. Jeremy Woo of Yahoo Sports reported that NBA and European teams were in the meeting.
One of them is the Cleveland Cavaliers. Notably, Cleveland ranked No. 1 in the 2013 draft and had the chance to choose Victor Oladipo. On the same day, team chairman Dan Gilbert was a fan of Oladipo. But assistant David Griffin ran for Anthony Bennett. Cleveland was 1#1 at Oladipo, the Magic ranked second. More than a decade later, the Cavaliers had the chance to join the veteran’s minimum contract.
