NBA G League, Next Generation League agrees to first CBA

Sources told ESPN’s Tim Bontemps on Friday that the NBA G League and the next Gen Basketball Players’ Union (NGBPU) have reached an agreement on the first G League.
The G League CBA will be “several improvements for players, including the increase in salary for G League players and the 10 trades that are off the show with G League Teams”, each Bontemps”.
NBA G League prepares NBA coaches for players
According to the official website, the NBA G League was founded in 2001 as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL), and was then renamed as the NBA D-League in 2005.
The G League is the official minor league of the NBA, “prepare for NBA players, coaches, officials, trainers and front desk staff while serving as the league’s R&D lab.”
Prior to the 2017-18 season, the NBA D-League became the NBA G-League, part of a multi-year expanded partnership between the NBA and Gatorade.
Last month, the G League released its full game schedule for the league’s 25th season, which was released on Friday, November 7. The new season is a season with an expanded playoff field and 31 teams, including the Indiana Pacers branch Rebranded Noblesville Boom.
The G League schedule will continue to be divided into two parts: 14 games, followed by 36 regular season games. In the 2025-26 season, all 31 G League teams will participate in at least 50 games.
Tips Championship begins 2025-26 season
The Tip-Off Championship marks the start of the 2025-26 season, beginning on Friday, November 7, and concluded that it was crowned the champion during the December 2025 G League Winter Showcase.
For the tip tournament, the teams are divided into four regions and play each other for 14 games.
Teams with the best win rate in each region, and the next four teams, regardless of the region, will be promoted to compete for the championship in the G League Winter Showcase.
Each team will play at least two games in the winter show.
After the tip game, the team record will be reset before 36 games in the regular season, which begins with the winter show.
At the end of the regular season, the first eight teams in each conference will qualify for the G League playoffs for the first time, which ends in the April 2026 G League final.
