Blackhawks gained a steady goalkeeper and is about to move into the next step in reconstruction – Hockey Writer – Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks have not had a stable position at goalkeeper since Corey Crawford ruled 2020. Spinning many goalkeepers are not an element of success. Of course, even if this is not the only (or even the main) factor for the team struggle, this certainly doesn’t make the reconstruction progress faster.
When general manager Kyle Davidson traded Seth Jones to the Florida Panthers, he talked about the instability that had plagued the Blackhawks for fifty years. The Panthers sent back 24-year-old goalkeeper Spencer Knight, and suddenly, the future looks uncertain. In its 13th overall choice in the 2019 NHL Draft, the Cavaliers will be loyal to future goalkeepers.

However, he is not there yet. The Blackhawks need improvements in many areas, so expect relief.
Currently, the Knights can still provide much-needed stability with Arvid Soderblom. Close the goalkeeper’s carousel will only increase the team’s confidence, allowing the player to get rid of this reconstruction if all goalkeepers go as planned.
What is the Blackhawks’ goal required
Obviously, the Blackhawks are not in singles mode. Therefore, they don’t want their goalkeepers to perform in a Stanley Cup ability. Instead, the Cavaliers and Soderbrom need to provide consistent, reliable performances that provide development for the young players in front of them. What do I mean?
Well, it comes down to a healthy balance, i.e., to make the savings you should and stop some of the things you shouldn’t do. I know insight isn’t groundbreaking, but it’s essential for the Blackhawks because the Suppar goalkeeper can stop this rebuilding momentum.
Davidson made it clear that next season, young players will have the opportunity to play without veterans. This means that with the pain they learn, especially defensive mistakes. The baseline of any goal-guard spin deployed by the team must be good enough that neither the forward nor the defender will worry about every mistake ending up behind the net. (Although we can’t ask the Knight or Knight or Soderblom to rescue the team from each case, while saving spectacular saves from time to time!)

More importantly, no one can allow weak targets for any given night, because how buckling this will be for young defenders, such as Artyom Levshunov and Sam Rinzel. I don’t mean “kids are too sensitive these days.” But no one plays the best hockey every time you step on the ice.
Again, we can’t expect the Blackhawks goalkeeper to come up with numbers like Connor Hellebuyck. But we can ask them to play consistently and let the team know what they get every night.
Cavaliers and Soudbrom will compete for time
Next season, the Blackhawks will have the luxury of evenly distributing their workloads between the Cavaliers and Soudbrom. The Knights will get more networking when viewed as high-end talent, but we’ve watched some of Soderblom’s great performances. Expect everyone to push the other side to be better and to compete for a start. I wouldn’t be surprised if head coach Jeff Blashill chose to do a great job in some games.
We haven’t discussed Drew Commesso, the 22-year-old 46th draft pick at the 2020 draft. He only played one game for the Blackhawks, but he was back-to-back 18-win season for Rockford Icehogs. He may be based on the combination of the way the season develops.
Whoever starts more games together, the Cavaliers and Soudbrom are both the Blackhawks boast the strongest tandem in some time. Competition should drive everyone better than the job, and it’s just their attack.
There is also a lot of motivation. Knight spent several seasons in Sergei Bobrovsky’s game, so he wanted to establish himself as a goalkeeper. Soderblom also wanted to establish itself as a more reliable option after struggling for stretching last season. Overall, the team will benefit from uniting the two and allowing the best man to win the net.
Goal-keeping stability will make reconstruction easier
The Blackhawks need the Cavaliers and Sudblom to stop the puck. The better the ice hockey, the better. Shocking, I know.
But seriously, given the uncertainty surrounding the position over the past few seasons, the team really needs a steady performance if this reconstruction is to be done. Knights and Soderblom should provide. They have personal talents and as a dual person they will push each other to be better. If, as Davidson hoped, most of this puzzle would enter next season.
