On Monday, the practice found love having a long conversation with coaches and trainers. The 26-year-old reportedly suffered a ligament tear on his left thumb. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday that the love surgery was small and expected to be prepared for the first week.

With the 26th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Packers chose Jordan Love from Utah. Love is Aaron Rodgers’ three seasons back-up at Green Bay. He learned from one of the top QBs in modern QBs. After the Packers traded Rogers to the Jets, Love got a full-time start to work. He has gone 18-14 in 32 games over the past two seasons.

Green Bay’s backup QB is Tennessee’s former third-round draft pick Malik Willis. Willis played seven games last season for the Packers and started twice. He won the game 2-0 in two games in Green Bay. The Packers have a tough schedule for the first five weeks of the season. They can’t afford Jordan’s love lost time.
According to Adam Schefter, the packers hope Jordan Love will return to practice next week. After a small portion of his thumb, it would be a very quick turnaround.
