French Open 2025: Iga Swiatek inspired by Rafael Nadal

Iga Swiatek said she once again saw Rafael Nadal in court again with a victory over Rebecca Sramkova in court, and once again, which inspired a lot.

The three-time defending champion won the French Open for the 22nd consecutive time when he beat Slovakia’s Sramkova 6-3 6-3 at home in Paris.

Swiatek has bid for the fifth French Open Championship in six years and has performed well in recent months, falling to fifth in the world rankings.

She arrived at the clay training major for the first time since 2020 without winning the WTA title in the first five months of the season.

Pole position and defending men’s champion Carlos Alcaraz held a tribute to 14-time champion Nadal on Sunday.

“I know the camera is on Carlos [Alcaraz] Behind me, I need to be brave, but seeing Rafa crying makes me even more excited,” Swiatke said.

“The great tennis world can show their appreciation and tell Rafa that we are really grateful for everything he does. He is a huge inspiration.

“Even if he doesn’t play, even though he’s here yesterday, it inspired me a lot. Thanks Rafa.”
