Yankees put Jazz Chisholm Jr. on the injured list

Yankees announced their infielder this morning Jazz Chisholm Jr. Due to the correct tilted strain, it was entered into the 10-day injury list. The move dates back to April 30. Jorbit Vivas Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre has recalled Chisholm in an active roster.
Chisholm exited Tuesday's match and competed on Wednesday's match. manager Aaron Boone Chisholm will have an MRI on Thursday's off day. This imaging clearly reveals that the Yankees sit down at Chisholm above next week. The team has not officially provided a timeline for the return of Chisholm, although even the Grade 1 inclined strain can last for more than a month. Of course, there are some players who will recover from very mild strains faster than this. Boone will certainly provide more information on Chisholm's injury prospects ahead of tonight's game.
The 27-year-old Chisholm has gained enough strength this season, but has a lot more than the 2024 strikeout. He cut .181/.304/.410 with seven home runs, three doubles, six steals (in 7 attempts) and a career-high 12% walking rate. He was also incited with a career-high 31.2% appearance and averaged averaging 0.200 in the game, so the average hit average is low.
Even with the average basement hit average, Chisholm's method on the board is not as shocking as one would have expected. In fact, he chased the strike zone in the lowest edits of his career. His 21.1% chase rate is 7 percentage points lower than the league average. Overall, Chisholm sees more tones than ever before. His career is 41.1%, accounting for 41.1% of the stadiums he sees, while his 4.27 courses per set are both the highest in career and the 24th highest in 168 qualified batsmen.
The driver of his strikeout is easier to explain than the fix: Chisholm's contact rate on the courts in the area has spread from 80.7% last year to 72.5% this season. (The league average is just over 85%.) Chisholm's strikeout rate has actually started to drop. In the last 80 trips to the plate, his plate appeared in a quarter of the plate – consistent with his 2024 grade – so maybe the spikes in the fist could be painted with some early white noise. Time will prove.
Meanwhile, Vivas will get his fourth Recall the Grand Slam and hope to finally insert the lineup this time. He has been summoned to Major League Baseball three times in the past, but Boone hasn't written the 24-year-old's name on the lineup card yet, and has even sent him into the game to pinch nails, pinchers or defensive replacements.
Vivas is doing everything he can to force the problem to Triple A. His 2025 season started first-class, hitting .319/.426/.436 (139 WRC+), a pair of home runs, 5 doubles, 6 steals (in 10 attempts) and a walk (12.9%) than strikeouts (6.9%). In the 2023-24 offseason, the left-hand spin Vivas obtained from the Dodgers can play second and third bases.
