What is the most logical landing point for Mason McTavish?

The NHL offseason calm has been working hard. There are still a few restricted free agents who haven’t signed a contract yet, including Luke Hughes of the New Jersey Devils, Marco Rossi of the Minnesota Wild and Mason McVish of the Anaheim Ducks.
In a sense, the longer the delay is, the optics seem to be McTavish is not a Pat Verbeek guy. This is similar to Trevor Zegras before he was traded to Philadelphia flyers this summer. Zegras, along with Jamie Drysdale, signed their bridge deal until this season. This could happen because Mctavish is not sure of his role in Joel Quenneville’s system.
But despite the lack of action, Mason McTavish can trade. But, unless the price is right, Verbeek doesn’t want to move him. If you remember, Verbeek believes his Ducks are the playoff team this year. But continuing to trade young, talented players to support veterans may not be the way ducks return to the playoffs. But, this is another topic on another day.
Sportsnet’s Ryan Dixon looked at six potential destinations for Mason McTavish and whether the teams were right for his players of his kind. Most Scouts are 2C and half of the league is looking for 2C, so why would the Duck give up on him?
NHL Rumors: Pittsburgh Penguins, and Mason McTavish’s Possible Landing Movement
All of this is perfectly suited before looking at the team, but which teams make the most sense and have the potential to achieve a deal?
Detroit Red Wings
RG Media’s Jimmy Murphy pointed out a few weeks ago that the Detroit Red Wings made sense and that the relationship between Steve Yzerman and Pat Verbeek will play a role in the potential deal. Not to mention, the two clubs have just made a deal to transfer John Gibson from Anaheim to Detroit. But what is Anaheim want in Detroit? Marco Kasper is a man who doesn’t start, as is Axel Sandin Pellikka. Detroit wants to find balance in their lineup, while Kasper can be played in the center of the second row or Dylan Larkin on the first row. Not to mention Sandin Pellikka is a future work of the Detroit Blue Line that can be prepared for the NHL game next year.
Carolina Hurricane
The Carolina Hurricane is an interesting team as they need a second-tier center to compete with Nikolaj Ehlers. Hurricanes may have works that make the deal come true. GM Eric Tulsky can use someone like Seth Jarvis to complete the transaction. He is not afraid of moving. Just look at what he did when he got Mikko Rantanen and turn it into Logan Stankoven. Jarvis has no trade protection, which is why, as NHLrumors.com mentioned, Jarvis can move with Nazem Kadri deal.
Does any trade destination for Nazem Kadri make sense?
Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames
The two teams come together because they are in the same department as the Anaheim Ducks. The partition price is high, ask the New Jersey Devil on Rickard Rakell. Both the Vancouver Canucks and the Calgary Flames require 2C.
Both the Flames and the Canucks are looking to return to the playoffs, especially the Flames, who missed the playoffs with 96 points. When they only need one center, they are unwilling to look for multiple centers. The Canucks won’t move Tom Willlander or Jonathan Lekkerimäki. Is there a roster player that will attract ducks, and a larger package to get the microphone?
As for the Flames, can Rasmus Andersson participate in part of this deal with the Ducks? Although Andersson has some trade protections, we know Andersson wants to win, Craig Conroy won’t get nothing. These flames have been attracting players to help them be competitive when transitioning to new buildings. Both teams have to pay through the nose to get a microphone.
Montreal Canadian
The Montreal Canadian continues to be associated with Mason McTavish. Suitable for Canadian fit, but the package may be a high-cost package from Montreal. Again, Montreal has higher expectations this season. Are players like Kirby Dach part of this deal? To be sure, this is not David Reinbacher. It all depends on what the duck is looking for in exchange for McTavish. Montreal has draft picks and prospects to make a deal, but if the Ducks want the roster players to help them rebuild and continue the trajectory, then Montreal may not have the option they want. Also, as of early July, Canadians and Ducks hadn’t talked about McTavish. Things may have changed over the past six weeks.
Is the reconstruction of the Montreal Canadian finally over?
Philadelphia Flyer
Likewise, another familiar trading partner of the duck. Not only did Jamie Drysdale trade Cutter Gauthier there, but so did Trevor Zegras. Under General Motors Danny Briere, the Flyers are still rebuilding. McTavish makes sense to their middle when they try to be younger. Sean Couturier is not his former player. Does the flyer even have players, prospects and draft picks to complete the deal?
Similarly, some teams are not listed, people are everywhere, and people don’t see deals going to be made. The Duck is doing his best to get Mason McTavish to sign, but it will depend on how he sees the time of the deal he signed within the organization.
Given that these choices are thin in the middle of Anaheim, the best thing to do after Ryan Strome is to sign him for a long time instead of swapping him for a team that develops and plays him in the right position and turns him into a threat on both sides of the ice.
