It was an unexpected ending, as Nats for Lowe’s tenure, obtained from the Rangers in the winter, was unsurprising. Nath Send Lefty Robert Garcia Hope for Texas, Lowe’s remaining two years of club control coming to Washington, D.C. (DC) could be a years-long choice, offering a mid-range fist for the young roster. It didn’t get what it wanted to say the least.

Lowe, 30, is a steady source of production, with the Rangers hitting .274/.359/.432 (124 WRC+) in 2021-24 and hitting .274/.359/.432 (124 WRC+) with 78 home runs (including 27 career-high 27 round-trip motorists in 2022. In 490 cricket, he beat .216/.292/.373 with a strikeout rate of 26.5%, the highest in his career in his entire season. Lowe’s 9.6% walk rate is better than average, but remains the second most walk rate in his career, which is worse than the 11.3% cut he recorded during the four-year peak of the Rangers.

Lowe hit the Grand Slam yesterday, his first home run since July 19, but it was only his third hit in August, despite frequent playing time. He has never played too many hits since July 18 and has hit only .167/.271/.294 (144 sets appearances). Yesterday’s home run was big, but not enough for Lowe to save his job at Nats.

Nationals may have explored Lowe’s potential deals before the trade deadline, but his ongoing downturn and a considerable 10.3mm salary will be a major obstacle to finding a deal. With the deadline behind, the Naths had nothing but put Lowe on the waiver or release the waiver. At this point, this is just the difference between paper. Lowe has crossed five years of MLB service in less than a month this season, meaning he can turn down a mission to support free agents and still retain the rest of the guarantees when he heads to the open market.

The other 29 teams will have the chance to ask Lowe, but given his huge struggle, it is difficult to see another team claiming that his contract remains 2.49 mm. If Lowe passes an unclaimed waiver, he will become a free agent who can sign with any team. At any time on the major league roster, a new team can only owe him the minimum of the league. Nationals will remain on the rest of their salary.

If Lowe can catch up and get back to form elsewhere, he will technically maintain the club’s control in the new team in 2026. However, he will be paying a (small) increase on a salary of 10.3mm, so he needs to impress in the final weeks of the season to make him worth a new club, and he deserves a 11mm+expense+expense. The people obviously would give him him-if not, they wouldn’t have taken this move.

The Naths have up to five days to put Lowe on the waiver. If they wait for the longest time, the guaranteed salary would drop slightly, about 2.2mm, but another club is still unlikely to claim the payment.

In case of Lowe exit door in DC, NAT can add the first base rep to recovery Josh Bellwhich will release the DH position to rotate several young players. Alternative options for first BAE for senior minors include Juan Jepez,,,,, Yohandy Morales and Trey Lipscombalthough only Lipscomb of the three is in the 40-man lineup, while Yepez and Morales are both struggling in Triple-A.
