Golf Business News – Under Armour officially opens Golf Footwear Performance Center in Stoke Park

Under Armour Golf has officially launched its revolutionary “footwear optimization process” at its new state-of-the-art golf footwear performance center located in Buckinghamshire Stoke Park.

By leveraging a proprietary combination of BioMecaforce AI drive powerplate, boot monitor data and Sidas Podiatech technology, the new facility offers an unparalleled customization process that helps match golfers with footwear within the range of Armour’s Drive Drive Drive Pro Series range.

“This is the most advanced athlete performance tracking technology in golf, which will allow golfers to understand the role of footwear in swings and make sure they are equipped with models to give them the highest performance,” said Kevin Ross, managing director of Under Armour EMEA.

The first step in the in-depth process uses the BiomeCaforce system, where golfers will start wearing their own footwear, during which time Trackman records key data metrics such as club speed, ball speed, rotation speed, rotation speed, strike position and carry distance. After preliminary evaluation, it is recommended to use a spike or spike shoe model based on peak force and body rotation.

After a series of further testing, golfers will evaluate their feet using the market-leading Sidas Podiatech system to better understand the anatomy of the foot and its impact on the golf swing. Once completed, custom insoles are built on site to promote optimized stability and the ability to increase higher peak forces.

Finally, once a custom insole was built for the drive professional shoes, further evaluation was conducted to highlight the performance achieved.

DP World Tour Rising star Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen also attended the official opening ceremony, where he increased the speed of the Type 5 railway by 2.5mph during the footwear optimization process.

“The whole process has been eye-opening and has brought me some vital benefits, including a 5% increase in peak vertical force. The level of feedback is incredible and should have caused many golfers to think about how to optimize the shoe,” Neergaard-Petersen said.

The talented young Dane also filmed the Under Armour Golf’s winter and fall clothing collection at Stoke Park. The Ryder Cup, which hopes to sign with the brand in February, added: “When you play, feel good and look good. I’m very proud to be a part of the Under Armour golf roster and am very excited about the team’s energy.”

Each session costs £500 and includes two hours of biomechanical analysis, a pair of shoes driving Pro series nails or spikes, and a set of custom insoles.
