Canadian Open: Cameron Norrie is out after Aleksandar Vukic fails

British No. 2 Cameron Norrie crashed from the Canadian Open after a second round defeat against unseeded Australian Aleksandar Vukic.
6-3 6-7 (2-7) 6-3 losses mean that the 29-year-old has been winning the singles championship since 2023.
Norrie had a good run against Wimbledon quarterfinals in early July but failed to extend that momentum to the hard court as he beat himself 3-0 in the opening round before a 6-3 loss.
He seemed to struggle with illness and checked his blood pressure midway through the second set, but fought 7-2 in the tiebreak.
However, Norrie failed to exploit any of his three breakthrough points in his decision set in the middle of the rain, as the number 31 seeds cannot overcome the World No. 99 Vukic, 29.
