Sunderland agrees to deal with Swiss star and book medical

Sunderland has agreed to sign a £13m fee, signing Granit Xhaka, who will sign a three-year contract on Wearside this week.

Xhaka became the most eye-catching target for the Black Cats in the summer transfer window as they hope to make a major and experienced signing before the new Premier League season begins.

The Swiss have a close relationship with Bundesliga Giants Bayer Leverkusen moving to Sunderland, and the 32-year-old has had extensive experience in playing in the UK since his Arsenal era.

Xhaka seems to like being a big player in Black Cats’ pursuit to avoid relegation to the championship, which feels that he came to a natural conclusion after winning the Bundesliga title in 2023/24.

The legendary Swiss international has dominated Sunderland-related headlines and now two Quickfire updates have appeared.

Xhaka sets signing three-year contract

On Monday morning, reports were reported that Sunderland had agreed to take £15m action for Xhaka, and the veteran midfielder would be joining immediately from Leverkusen. But Keith Downie shared further updates that revealed a lot of good news for those on Wearside.

In fact, Xhaka’s contract will be one year longer than the year reported first, and the initial cost is actually lower than the quantity.

“I made a more accurate breakdown of the costs. Sunderland will pay Xhaka £13m, and Xhaka add-ons. 137 play-off midfielders have been given a green light to do medical trips. I can also confirm that this is a three-year deal instead of a two-year deal (other than a deal).

This is great news for anyone related to Sunderland, and Xhaka’s statement signed the statement that he could put Regis Le Bris’ team into another gear.

Black Cat includes repurchase terms.

The Black Cats were promoted with a young team, with emerging midfielders such as Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg outstanding, but need more experience in the middle of the Premier League park, not to mention a replacement for the former after moving to Borussia Dortmund.

At Xhaka, Sunderland can have the perfect guy, the former Arsenal player earned an incredible 137 hats for Switzerland and won his “big heart” by former Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso and always gave his all to his career.

Now, before Xhaka joins with his new teammates, this is the situation in the final part of the transfer, hoping to impress from Off.
