Yankees may move jazz Chisholm back to third base

Jazz Chisholm Jr. The Double-A Somerset rehabilitation mission started tonight. This is the first game of a switch hitting the infielder since holding the right tilt pressure last month. Chisholm started the game at third base. He played five innings and won four games before a planned mid-term replacement.

Position assignment is the most interesting aspect. Manager Aaron Boone told the Yankees Beat Wednesday night that the team is considering Chisholm as a third baseman once he returns from the injured roster (passed by Greg Joyce of the New York Post). After today’s rehabilitation competition, Chisholm said it could indeed be a plan (video provided by SNY).

This is what I’ve heard so far“He replied when asked if he expected to be a full-time third baseman.”(Boon) gave me a choice, but he told me he really wanted me to be at third base. I’m a team person. I’m winning the ring here. I’m not here to fight for posts and all of that.transparent

Chisholm only played second base this year. By the end of April, he had started 29 games at Keystone. DJ Lemahieu The whole time was on IL. Oswaldo Cabrera Play regularly in hot corners. Of course, things have changed over the past few weeks. Lemahieu is back and has moved to the second base. Cabrera’s ankle fracture almost certainly ended his season. Oswald Peraza and Jorbit Vivas (To a lesser extent) has covered the third base since Cabrera’s injury.

Neither Peraza nor Vivas offer anything offensively. Chisholm only hit .181 before his injury, but he linked seven home runs on seven home runs while painting with a strong 12% cut. Compared to Peraza/Vivas pairing, it should be a major upgrade. Lemahieu enters the first 12 games of .184/.244/.263. This is an inappropriate follow-up to last year’s .204/.269/.259 performance, but it seems likely that the Yankees will bring him more belts in the coming weeks. They obviously prefer Lemahieu to keep the right side of the infield while trying to get his bat on track.

This is the second time Chisholm has gone from second to third base during his tenure at the Yankees. He took action after the deadline deal last summer. That’s for respect Gleyber Torres (And after the current second baseman in New York said he wasn’t interested in position changes. Chisolm made seven mistakes in 400 1/3 of the innings in his first Major League Baseball (MLB) action in the popular corner). He scored below average by scoring through defense, but Statcast attributed him to his four runs.

The move could also have an impact on New York’s deadline approach. The help of the infield will be the logical area that the front desk is targeting this summer – especially if Lemahieu doesn’t pick up things. If Chisholm gets a third baseman, he can probably return to second, but they can also look for a direct upgrade at second base. The position generally declined, but Brandon Low,,,,, Louis Uris With old friends Thairo Estrada (People who are currently recovering from wrist fractures) are one of the potential deadline trade candidates.
