Melton, 24, is the Tigers’ fourth-round draft pick in 2022. Since then, he has climbed the minor league ladder and has increased the number of people along the way. Overall, he threw 273 innings in 66 games. 63 of them are formal beginnings, while the other three are technically long-term relief. At that time, he allowed 3.63 runs with a strikeout rate of 28.1% and a 6.5% walking rate.
This includes his 75 1/3 innings this year, splitting between Double-A and Triple-A. He has a total of 2.99 ERA this season. His 6.4% walk rate is still good, with his strikeout rate of 32.4%.
