“World-class” Arsenal Monitoring Agreement £35 million

Arsenal fans will have cautious optimism ahead of the 2025/26 campaign ahead of the opening weekend of the Premier League campaign.
Mikel Arteta’s team has been runner-up in every year of the last three years, hoping to make better progress this season after getting a lot of key additions in the summer window.
The hierarchy supported him in the transfer window, solving the problem position by landing forward Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP after scoring 54 goals in the last season.
Other areas of the stadium are also subject to investment, with Martin Zubimendi and Cristhian mosquitoes arriving at Emirates, respectively, and strengthening the midfield and the Ministry of Defense, respectively.
However, despite the huge spending in recent weeks, another player has been in the form of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
Latest information about Arsenal’s pursuit of Ez
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder was heavily mentioned in his move to join Arsenal, and subsequently improved the options for Arteta’s disposal.
However, they face fierce competition from rival Tottenham Hotspur in north London, who are also interested in his signature during the off-season.
Thomas Frank’s side has been in talks with English International, both hoping to capitalize on the £60 million valuation that Hawks owner Oliver Glasner had on his head.
The Gunner reportedly could get out of negotiations in the coming days, and currently sees his asking price as out of scope, given that money has been splashed this summer.
From now until the September 1 deadline, he is not the only midfield star they look at, and it is possible to see this as the move of the top European star.
Arsenal seeks another midfielder this summer
Earlier in the summer window, Arsenal was one of the various teams in the Premier League, moving to PSG youngster Warren Zaire-Emery ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
But, it is no wonder that there is no doubt, no doubt, no doubt, given the price of the Ligue 1 side, the label is sold for £100 million.
According to a Spanish store, he is not the only European star to appear on the Gunners radar, and Barcelona’s Francis de Zheng is also their sight.
Their report notes that Arteta’s side is closely monitoring the actions of Holland International, with only one year left on its contract with the Laliga Giants.
It also noted that in the absence of new deals, the 28-year-old could open the move to explore the window, raising a £35 million asking price.
Why Arsenal’s latest goal is bigger than Eze
Missing Eze would be a painful blow for Arsenal’s fan base, especially given the big rumor about moving him to the club in recent months.
If the players themselves were to move to the Spurs, their pain would undoubtedly be more complicated, which would make the British surely make Frank’s clothes stronger.
But it is important that Gunners don’t go beyond and pay over-inflated transfer fees this summer – there are other serious qualities in the current market.
A deal from De Jong can offer, with years of experience at the highest level of European football – which would be crucial if the club is to reach the next level.
Although the couple operates in slightly different positions, the 28-year-old has proven in Spain in recent years that he is the leading talent in the box to the outside world – able to add quality in Arteta
.
His basic statistics from the 2024/25 campaign highlighted that he would increase the quality of the first team and was able to have a great say in their success on either end of the court.
According to FBREF, De Jong is labeled as “world class” by Simone Inzaghi, who ranks 99th percentile (94%) and 97th percentile (9.5) in the 99th percentile.

Such numbers could allow him to pick out the gyokeres in the last third, thus giving the Swedes a huge impact in the Virgins in north London.
Despite his position deeper than Eze, he still showed his threat before the goal, hitting a 60% goal percentage – making him the 99th percentage point for all European midfielders.
Outside of possession, the former Ajax star was also impressed, winning 1.5 tackles per 90 shots and making 2.4 interceptions – able to break the player before pulling the ball into the dangerous area.
While another rich offensive player is still high on the club’s shortlist, one of De Jong’s deals is a hierarchy deal that simply cannot be surpassed between now and the transfer deadline.
If he could replicate this talent in England, he would be a bargaining transfer and could still help the club seek to end their two years waiting for the top champion.
