Sky to still host Ryder Cup and DP World Tour – Golf News

Sky Sports and DP World Tour have announced a four-year extension to their partnership, with Sky Sports and NOW remaining the venue for the Ryder Cup and DP World Tour in the UK and Ireland until at least the end of 2029.

Under the new deal, Sky Sports will exclusively broadcast the next two events of golf’s most iconic team competition – the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Estate in Ireland and the 2029 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine in the United States – starting in 2026.

A record number of sports fans tuned into Sky Sports golf coverage this year. The postponement comes just over a month after Team Europe’s historic 2025 Ryder Cup victory, which was the centerpiece of the most watched weekend in Sky Sports history, with viewership reaching five million over the three days of competition.

Sunday’s singles event attracted Sky Sports’ highest-ever golf audience, with a quarter of the TV audience watching the dramatic final, more than 40 per cent of whom were under-35s.

Sky Sports social channels also had a total of 55 million views across all platforms, while digital interactive pages on the Sky Sports app and skysports.com had 12.4 million views during the Ryder Cup.

Under the new deal, Sky Sports viewers will continue to enjoy unparalleled coverage of the DP World Tour global schedule, which will visit 25 countries in 2026 and includes five Rolex Series events – the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, Genesis Scottish Open, BMW PGA Championship, Abu Dhabi Championship and DP World Tour Championship.

Sky chief sports officer Jonathan Licht said: “Extending our long-term partnership with the DP World Tour comes at a time when golf viewership is at an all-time high. This year’s Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black once again demonstrates why it remains one of the most compelling events in world sport and we look forward to surprising fans over the next two editions. We also saw record attendances at the Amgen Irish Open this year and we know there will be many more unmissable moments throughout the season in Dubai over the next four years.”

DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings added: “As golf’s global tour, the DP World Tour’s unparalleled diversity of locations and players has really resonated with fans, and Sky Sports ratings have increased this season and attendance at our events has increased. This year’s Ryder Cup has also reinforced this: golf’s greatest team competition generates a level of drama that no other sporting event can match. With four years of Sky Sports’ storytelling capabilities, we are well-positioned to continue to grow our fan base.”

Sky Sports remains the home of golf in the UK and Ireland, showcasing the sport’s biggest moments throughout the year, including exclusive live coverage of all four men’s majors and all five women’s majors. Sky Sports’ golf coverage offers fans an unparalleled viewing experience, combining cutting-edge technology with storytelling to bring viewers as close to the action as possible.
