Tara Moore: British tennis player banned for doping offense

The British player said she suffered “19 months of time and emotional distress” and the case was damaged.

She returned to the tour in April 2024 and has since participated in ITF World Tour.

Tag players earn little, although Moore does make it a major draw for Wimbledon and the U.S. Open last year and the Australian Open in January.

But after the March hearing, the CAS ruling means she won’t be able to play again until the 2028 season begins.

“After reviewing scientific and legal evidence, most CAS teams believe that players have not succeeded in proving that the concentration of nandrolone in their samples is consistent with the intake of contaminated meat,” the court said in a media release.

“The panel concluded that Ms. Moore’s failure to determine that ADRV (anti-doping rule violation) was not intentional. As a result, ITIA’s appeal was upheld and the decision made by the independent court was put on hold.”
