Wimbledon Qualifications: British Emily Appleton, Oliver Tarvet and Hamish Stewart

British Emily Appleton, Oliver Tarvet and Hamish Stewart made their debut in the Wimbledon main draw in a win.
World No. 403 Appleton, 25, won the match in a 10-point match against Czech player Barbora Palicova, won the match 6-2 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (10-7) and held a meeting with Veronika Erjavec of Slovenia in the third and final qualifiers on Thursday.
Tarvet, 21, ranked 719, beat Canada’s Alexis Galarneau 6-3 6-2 to hold a meeting with Belgium’s Alexander Blockx.
Stewart, 25, will face Swiss player Leandro Riedi, after Scottish World 550 defeated France’s Luca Van Assche 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 7-6 (11-9).
But Ryan Peniston, Paul Jubb, Oliver Bonding and Amarni Banks all ended Wimbledon’s hopes on Wednesday in Roehampton.
Peniston lost 3-6 6-4 to Spain’s Martin Landaluce, while Martin Landaluce was defeated 6-3 6-2 by Giulio Zeppieri, while Argentina’s Juan Pablo Ficovich beat 7-5 6-4.
In the Women’s draw, the bank lost 6-2 6-4 to Poland’s Katarzyna Kawa.
Players must play in three qualifying games to get to Wimbledon, which is a draw at 10:00 on Friday BST – before the action begins on Monday.
