Wimbledon 2025: Yulia Putintseva filed lawsuit against referees on security

The 33 Yulia Putintseva in the world raised concerns about the audience in the first round of Wimbledon, demanding them to be deported.
Early in the match against Amanda Anisimova in Game 15, the 30-year-old complained directly to the referee a spectator, which she described as “crazy” and “dangerous.”
A club spokesman said the matter was “handled”.
Her concerns were first expressed when she trailed Kazakhstan’s Putintseva 3-0 in the opening game.
She said, “Can you take him out? I won’t keep playing until he leaves. These people are dangerous, they are crazy.”
She was then seen pointing to an area of the crowd and describe it as someone wearing green.
The chairman referee boarded the court and spoke with three security personnel.
When Putintseva was told Play would resume, she heard that she didn’t want to do so until it was handled safely.
“Take him out because maybe he has a knife,” she said.
Putintseva was very excited late in the game and lost 6-0 6-0 in 45 minutes.
She did not talk to the media after that.
A spokesman for the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) told BBC Sport: “In Court No. 15, the Chairman’s referee committee declared safety and handled the matter.”
Meanwhile, Anisimova told the BBC that she believes the audience has been saying “ [Putintseva] Coming to serve: “I’m sure we’re protected”.
AELTC CEO Sally Bolton said earlier about the security issue: “We are so familiar with the steps that need to be taken so that players can play here that they are well cared for.”
