Wimbledon 2025 results: Ollie Tarvet’s dream achievement ends with Carlos Alcaraz

College student Ollie Tarvet couldn’t make one of the biggest shocks in Wimbledon’s history as the British dream score ended with two defending champion Carlos Alcaraz.
The 21-year-old had an interesting battle-expressing signs of his tremendous potential – but ended up losing 6-1 6-4 6-4 on the Central Stadium.
Tarvet ranked 733rd in the world, creating 11 breakthrough points in the five-time Grand Slam championship game.
However, British people studying in the United States could only seize two of these opportunities, never seemingly serious to cause unhappiness.
“I want to praise Oliver, I love his game,” said the second seed Alcaraz, who won his 20th straight game.
“He was a great level of playing in the first game at Central Stadium, which was great.
“I know I have to really focus from the beginning. I’m happy with how I’m doing.”
Tarvet won four wins – a qualifying three-pointer, three in the first round – meaning he should receive a prize for £99,000.
However, under the rules of the U.S. university, he only allows him to compensate him for a profit of $10,000 (£7,290) per year, as well as any expenses incurred during the event.
Despite showing that he can test the best in the professional rankings, Tarvet still plans to return to the University of San Diego next year to end his four-year degree in communication and marketing.
