Tottenham’s ‘contender’ signs ‘incredible’ defender for £50m

Journalist Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Tottenham Hotspurs is a “contender” and currently signed a “incredible” defender who will now cost £50 million.

Spurs hope to strengthen their defensive options

The Spurs completed the signing of West Ham United Mohammed Kudus last week, with the Ghanaians paying £55m, and they are still confident in a deal to attack midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White at Nottingham Forest.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, he said: “They want to make this deal, they want to sign players. Nottingham Forest is ready for the fight. So let’s see what happens there.

“But, to be sure, the Gibbs-white trade can now solve the problem between the two clubs. It will be a concern for the next few days and hours, and Tottenham still gets the players hopefully and confidently.”

If the Spurs get a deal with Forest Stars online, they may turn their attention to the backline as they scored the fifth-worst defensive record in the Premier League last season.

Burnley’s Maxime Esteve said in a speech by football insiders: “Everton has shown a lot of interest in him, and if he leaves Burnley this summer, it’s time to mention Tottenham Hotspur is a signing contender.

“The Spurs did try to sign him on the January window when he did well; Burnley didn’t want to lose Esteve, but they put £50 million in their heads.

“I don’t think the Spurs are going to get close to that level to try to sign Esteve, but Burnley is in a very strong position to negotiate here. He’s been ahead of the contract until 2029, and because of his contract, they can ask for a lot of fees – this price tag could scare most clubs.”

“Incredible” Esteve could alleviate the Spurs’ defense issues

Burnley has all the cards in negotiations at this stage, but if the French defender pushes for a move this summer, there are clear signs that he can help Ethel Spurs’ defensive problems.

It is worth noting that Clarets scored just 16 goals in the championship game last season, while the Frenchman played every game, during which he managed to impress manager Scott Parker.

The Spurs took a signing approach and stood up, Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White.

Parker said: “First of all, he is a great kid and an incredible professional. Only his ordinary aura of humility towards him and towards boys and his professionalism, everything about him is top boys and of course his qualities.”

That said, the £50 million fee is a huge amount of money for players who have not proven themselves in the Premier League class, and with Burnley in a strong negotiating position, it would be no surprise if Tottenham decides to move on to other goals.
