Golf Business News – McIntyre, Ross and Scott add a star-studded roster to the BMW PGA Championship in September

Robert MacIntyre, Justin Rose and Adam Scott are the latest stars of this year’s BMW PGA Championship, when the Rolex series returned to Club Wentworth from September 9-14.
The three joined defending champion Billy Horschel, five-time Grand Slam champion and Grand Slam champion Rory McIlroy and European Ryder Cup stars Ludvig Åberg, Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry for a prestigious event on the West Stadium in Wentworth.
Former world No. 1 and major champion Rose will make his 20th debut in 2001 in his 24-year history. The British won the U.S. Open in 2013 at Merion and was two-time champion of the BMW PGA title.
Like Rose, Scott is also a former world number one and major champion after winning the Masters Championship in 2013. The Australians have a further victory on the DP World Tour, winning 13 titles on the PGA Tour.
MacIntyre will defend his Royal Canadian Open Championship on the PGA Tour this week, the first of two wins of the 2024 season. He then claimed to win the prestigious Rolex Series at the Genesis Scottish Open home-based victory, which prevented Scott from challenging his third DP World Tour success.
Rose and MacIntyre formed a winning partnership in the 2023 Ryder Cup, winning two in two matches and pairing two in two four-goal matches by Marco Simone.
“I’m so excited for this landmark appearance at the BMW PGA Championship, and I can’t believe it will be my 20th start,” Ross said. “We’ve seen it from strength to strength over the years, and it’s really the highlight of our season. There’s nothing better than playing in front of a family crowd, so I’m really looking forward to September.”
Scott, who won the 95th straight game in a major at the U.S. PGA Championship last month, will debut at the BMW PGA Championship later this year.
“The BMW PGA Championship has really grown over the years and the atmosphere is good,” Scott said. “This is an event I love to play lately and it’s great to serve in front of the Wentworth crowd again.”
Last season, McIntyre finished his best in the BMW PGA Championship, ending with his 12th place.
“I haven’t missed the BMW PGA Championship since I played in the 2019 DP World Tour, which is a competition I’ve always loved to play,” the Scots said. “This is one of the events you’ve always wanted to play, and Wentworth is a great test. I’m looking forward to returning to September.”
