Why social media #ShrinkTheGame message has no place in golf

Many older golfers lament the days of pandemic when golf is less popular or expensive. We explain why today’s games are healthier and better for everyone.
There is a hashtag around social media that should bother you if you really like golf:
#shrinkthegame
It reflects the sentiment of golfers who despise the current situation surrounding public golf. They wanted to go back to pre-pandemic days, when there were fewer people in the course and fewer open-size serving times. They hate the influx of young players, who bring music to the game, bold costumes and a more casual attitude.
The latest data from the National Golf Federation (NGF) shows that at the highest level in the U.S. since 2008, more than 26 million Americans play golf in their 2023 courses, while more than 14 million others are swinging on simulators, ranges or golf entertainment facilities.
