Leeds United’s 2019/20 team will drop in history, with whites returning to the Premier League after 16 years of absence from Marcelo Bielsa, the club’s 100th anniversary.
Patrick Bamford played a key role in this, but after seven years on Elland Road, he has now left the club. After Bamford won two titles with Leeds, the striker was not in Daniel Farke’s Premier League plan and his contract was terminated.
Back in 2020, Bielsa’s Leeds Squad had 18 players who made 10 or more appearances as the whites ended up leading by 10 points at West Brom.

Goalkeeper Kiko Casilla officially left Leeds in 2022, with his contract ending one year early.
Espanyol made 36 titles in 2019/20, and after leaving the whites, he signed Gatea before retiring in 2023.

Initially, he moved to Riverside in 2024 before relocating permanently and complying with the contract until 2026.

He swapped Yorkshire to Bulgaria and CSKA Sofia, but only over 12 months, he became a free agent in 2025.

Originally on the left wing, Ezgjan Alioski became Bielsa’s offensive defender and won five championship goals in 2019/20.
He regularly competes in the Premier League on 2020/21, but that summer was left to Saudi professional league team Al-Ahli. Alioski also played for Fenerbahce before returning to Swiss side FC Lugano, who remained on contract until 2027.

Kalvin Phillips

Kalvin Phillips is a key member of the Bielsa midfield base, who moved £50 million from Leeds to Manchester City in 2022 after starring the Argentinian.
However, Phillips had loans in West Ham and Ipswich towns without plans for midfielder plans in Etihad. In the summer of 2025, he is looking for another new club but still signs a contract with Manchester City.

Stewart Dallas

Stuart Dallas, a versatile star under Bielsa, turned into Leeds Legend, but suffered severe injuries to City on Elland Road in 2022.
Two years later, he will officially retire after failing to recover, ending with 267 Leeds appearances in all games. Dallas is now an expert on Sky Sports’ EFL reporting.

Helder Costa

Helder Costa’s Leeds move was a borrower for the 2019/20 season and became permanent in 2020, however, he had a spell with Valencia and Al-Ittihad before being released on Elland Road in 2023.
The winger then played in Portugal with Estoril and Yn Yukun, but as of the summer of 2025, Costa had no clubs at 31.

Mateusz Klich

Box-Box midfielder Mateusz Klich became a cult hero on Elland Road and was allowed to join DC United in 2023 after starring Leeds.
The Polish international joined Atlanta in late 2024, before returning to his home country with Krakovia in August 2025, where he signed until 2027.

Still at Leeds is winger Jack Harrison, who has two loans with Everton after relegation in the 2023 Leeds Premier League.
Harrison’s work is about to work to get Leeds fans back to tie until 2028, Elland Road is still on contract and appears to be in Farke’s plan.
