The Fed Cup competition doesn’t start until January 3 in Sydney (January 2 in Perth), but many of the world’s biggest tennis stars have been training hard at Sydney Olympic Park.
Alex De Minaur trained with fellow Sydneysider Aleksandar Vukic on Tuesday, with Australia’s United Cup captain Lleyton Hewitt watching. De Minaur has a long history of success in mixed team events, having beaten Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal in the past.
Another player he defeated in the season opener was Alexander Zverev, who was also on hand to prepare for the 2026 season.

The two-time Nitto ATP Finals champion guided Germany to the Fed Cup title in 2024 and will hope to do so again this year, starting with Sunday’s match against the Netherlands.

Victoria Mboko, making her first appearance in the Confederations Cup, leads the way for Canada alongside Felix Auger-Aliassim.

Auger-Aliassim ended his 2025 season playing some of the best tennis of his career, competing in the Nitto ATP Finals for the second time. He is ranked a career-high No. 5 in the PIF ATP Rankings.

Caspar Rudd has been the flag bearer for Norway since the start of the event and he will be looking to get his campaign off to a fast start. The 27-year-old’s first match of the year will be against Czech Jakub Mensik on Monday.
