The Oklahoma City Thunder once again paraded the Western Conference Finals, beating the Minnesota Timberwolves 118-103 and taking a 2-0 lead.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took the lead after officially winning the MVP trophy. He scored 38 points, 8 assists and 3 steals and was very effective in doing so.
Oklahoma City's “Big Three” appeared in large numbers in this game. Jalen Williams added 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists, while Chet Holmgren added 22 points.
Minnesota certainly looks more organized in this game and is more offensive than Game 1. It's not far enough. The Thunder led eight points at halftime before leading the Wolves 35-21 in the third quarter.
Anthony Edwards performed well throughout the game, ending with 32 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. He couldn't get his 3-point shooting percentage, though, which was just one of his nine attempts.
The Wolves shot 11 innings (28.2%) from the Deep team. Julius Randle was the worst in the playoffs, with only six points, five rebounds, five assists and four turnovers. He shot only 2 of 2 from the field.
It had to be a shocking loss for the Wolves, who trailed eight games in half despite having just four points in three games in the first half.
Where will the wolf's answer come from?
The Wolves have to find the answer by falling 2-0 and losing both games convincingly.
Gilgeous-Alexander is getting everything he wants, and the Thunder's defense is definitely power.
Minnesota will have to hope that some home cooking will change the dynamics of the series. Role players, especially Donte Divincenzo and Naz Reid, have to have a greater impact than ever before.
The Wolf has no chance to turn on the paint to get more attack opportunities without defeating the three. They totaled 90 innings (28.9%) in two games.
