Stan Wawrinka is seeking ATP Challenger Tour history this weekend. The 40-year-old entered the semi-finals of the Saint-Tropez Open, aiming to be the oldest challenger champion in history.
Wawrinka is third in the PIF ATP rankings, finishing second in the runner-up at last week’s Rennes Challenger and Aix-en-Provence in May. If the Swiss take a step further and claim the San Tropez champion, he will become the oldest challenger titlelist through Ivo Karlovic. Karlovic won the 2018 Calgary Challenger in 39 years and four months.
