Washington has signed two-time champion Von Miller to reach a one-year contract in 2025

The 2024 season is a special year for the Washington Commander. After decades of mediocre policies, the commander hit the gold medal. The new head coach, general manager and the revamped lineup will help Washington take the next step.

They were 12-5 in 2024 and were their best record since 1991. Washington participated in the NFC Championship but lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. One weakness in the Commanders want to address this offseason is their lack of consistency in passing runs. That’s why NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that the commander is signing a one-year contract with senior pass sprint Von Miller.

How effective will 36-year-old von Miller be on the commander in 2025?

On March 9, Buffalo Bills released veteran passes to sprint Von Miller. This freed up $8.4 million in the cap space. If Miller is in Buffalo, Miller will account for $23.9 million in 2025. That was second on the team, only from Josh Allen. The 36-year-old waited patiently for the autograph and found his home for next season. Von Miller is signing a one-year contract with Commander Washington.

This will be the fourth series Miller played in his 13-year career. These include time with Mustangs, Rams and bills. Von Miller’s 129.5 career sacks have always ranked 16th. He was one of the most important pass rushers at the time. In his first 10 seasons, Miller recorded 110.5 sacks and won three first-team All-Pros.

Additionally, Miller made eight Pro Bowls in that span. Now he joins the Washington Commander to bring sparks to their pass sprints. In 2024, the Commander ranked 30th in the NFL with five three-quarters sacks. Despite a 12-5 record, the team is still trying to end the game defensively. The team studied several free agents during the offseason and finally decided on Von Miller.

Washington already has the oldest average age for the 2025 season, nearly 28 years old. Von Miller, who has added 36, will expand that number. After 2024 success, the commander is eager to strike at the championship window. Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels has changed the prospects of their franchise. That’s why the team is willing to take the opportunity this offseason and sign someone like von Miller. Washington opened the 2025 season with the Giants in Week 1.
