Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga has not discussed extending Qo deadline

According to NBA insider Stein Line, Golden State Warriors and restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga have reportedly not discussed postponing the deadline for eligibility offers.
Jonathan Kuminga must sign the eligibility offer by October 1
The Warriors made a $7.9 million eligibility offer to Kuminga in June, making the 6-foot-8 wing a restricted free agent, but the two sides were unable to reach an agreement on the new deal.
Kuminga’s qualified quote deadline is Wednesday, October 1.
“Jonathan Kuminga and the Warriors have no discussion on postponing his deadline to accept eligibility proposals,” Fischer reported on Saturday.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Wednesday Today’s NBA.
Charania said the Warriors players are working out in San Diego, but Kubinga was the only missing player in the roster last season. Without a contract, there is no motivation to participate in any team’s functions.
Warriors propose three separate contracts to Cushing
Additionally, ESPN’s Anthony Slater and Charania reported last week that Golden State had previously proposed three separate contracts to Kuminga.
The most profitable thing is to offer a three-year, $75.2 million contract in the third season and offer team choices. It guarantees Kubinga $48.3 million in the first two seasons.
Cushing Province also received a two-year, $45 million contract and offered an option for a team in its second season, while a three-year, $54 million deal has no options. However, Kumingga rejected these suggestions.
If Kuminga signs a qualifying offer, he will give up more than $40 million in margin over the next two seasons, but that will give him a trade-free clause and make him an unrestricted free agent next summer.
Stalemate prevents Golden State from signing free agents
More importantly, the extended contract deadlock between Kumingga and the Warriors prevented Western Conference contenders from signing free agents in the offseason.
So, as the camp begins, Golden State has to become very picky.
“You can certainly understand why the Warriors don’t want to wait a moment, and it’s their long-term wait at this time. The signing of their long-term plans is Al Horford, De’anthony Melton and Gary Payton II, maybe Seth Curry, maybe shelved due to the Kuminga Stalemate,” Fischer added.
“If it does last until Wednesday, the Golden State will have to do the first two days of training camp, then all kinds of players are missing.”
Golden State’s first preseason game will face the Los Angeles Lakers on October 5.
The Warriors will then visit the Lakers on October 21 to open up their 2025-26 season.
