Brooke Henderson’s epic home win continues to go crazy

Within minutes of her epic hometown victory, Brooke Henderson admitted she wasn’t sure how she could keep the party.

“Honestly, I don’t know,” she said. “But it’s so cool, I was able to celebrate with thousands of fans, family and friends. I’m really glad this did happen. It’s like a dream come true again, and I mean, I don’t know what I’m going to do next.

And then inspire.

“But I might have a pop music. I’ve never been popular, for a few years. I might have one.”

The “popular” here refers to “soda”. When she carefully broke a one-year soda-free streak, she had just beaten a two-and-a-half-year streak on the LPGA Tour and won a wild home win at the CPKC Women’s Open at the Mississaugua Golf and Country Club in Ontario.

Henderson’s victory won the victory. She entered Sunday’s final round, tied with world fourth-ranked Minjee Lee and launched a quarter with 67-shots below 67. Both players performed well, and were excellent in shooting as each of them scored the final seven holes below the 3-pointer. That moment of the week was when Lee poured 13 feet into the birdie at No. 17, with Henderson and Henderson following behind a 12-foot player to maintain a one-shot lead.

“She is a good friend and she is a very tough competitor. I know it’s really tough to play with her today,” Henderson said.

Victory is the 14th place in Henderson’s career; she is the most winning golfer in Canadian history and is now the two-time champion of the National Open. Her last Canadian Open win was in 2018.

“It’s so cool to see the Canadian flag and hear the national anthem after winning my national open,” she said. “I’ve told everyone for a long time that it’s approaching, it’s approaching, it’s approaching. It’s so exciting to finally break through again.”

Although Henderson is one of the most famous players in the LPGA, her victory continues to make a ridiculous streak of the league: 22 events of the season have technically 23 different winners, no duplicate games and a two-player team tournament.

“That’s crazy. Yes, it’s amazing,” Henderson said when asked about not repeating the winner’s record. “I mean, I think the power. This tour is getting stronger and stronger among players around the world. There are more national flags and more players from different countries out.

“So, I think it just shows how powerful it is and how difficult it is to win. Everything has to line up perfectly like winning on the tour. I’m so glad to be these 23.

Henderson has shown solid performances in 2025, but hasn’t put them together for a whole week. She started this season, just outside the top 20 in the world. This week, she made it the world number 58.

“I think it’s probably the longest between wins, so that makes it very special,” she said. “It’s like being near the top.”

As for the details around that pop music?

“Either the elves or vanta orange. These things are good. Maybe both are OK,” she said.

Sweetness that matches the taste of victory.
