Wanderer puts Jake Burger on 10-day injury list

On Friday night, Jake Burger After a lot of rocking strikeouts, he placed his hand on his torso, and his hands looked painful as he returned to the canoe. He did not participate in the second half of the game. So it wasn’t surprising when the Rangers placed the first baseman on the 10-day injured list with the left-tilt strain this afternoon. Thankfully, he didn’t think the injury was particularly serious, he told Shawn McFarland that his Dallas Morning News said he wouldn’t miss it than at least 10 days. He linked tilt damage to tilt damage suffered in 2023, keeping him away from May 4-14. When he left, Justin Foscue He will take his place in the active roster.

Starting in 2023-24, Hamburg hit 63 home runs and produced 113 WRC+ with the White Sox and the Marlins in 278 games. When the Rangers traded for him in the offseason, they certainly wanted to get a medium movement bat. However, he started a tough start in his first year at Texas, scoring .190/.231/.330 in the first five weeks of the season at 53 WRC+. In early May, the Wanderer made a surprising decision to briefly choose him to take him to the circular rock, giving the 29-year-old a chance to hold his breath and reset. This seems to work as he played six home runs against Round Rock Express in six games and played 23-9. After the May 12 call, he played eight doubles and seven home runs in the next 35 games. His overall results (.725 OPS and 100 WRC+) averages remain higher than the good average, but his plus strength is back, and even average overall production represents a huge improvement in his early performance in the early season.

Rangers have some players who can see the time at the beginning, including Foscue and Josh Smith. However, manager Bruce Bochy suggested Ezequiel Duran Burger will take over as the team’s main first baseman when he is out (each McFarland). Duran is not your typical first baseman. He is a versatile defender who can play throughout the infield (and a little outfield too), but his Bats still have a lot to be desired. Although he hit .276 with 14 home runs and 110 WRC+ in the 2023 season, his offense was disappointing in 2024 (.609 OPS, 74 WRC+), and so far they have been in fear in 2025. By 2025, he has been defeating in 23 games, and he hit .152.152 and has not hit the home run yet. He looks much better lately, with 3 doubles in the past week (his first extra hit rate of the season), but there is no doubt that the Rangers’ offense will suffer losses until Hamburg returns.
