Vitor Pereira may be lured to leave the wolf to Benfica

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has ties to Benfica Job, and Mick Brown told football insiders that he could see Portuguese tacticians attracted by opportunities.

Pereira is experienced and has managed Porto, Olympiastos and Finnabas for more than 20 years of his career.

He also completed a good job with the Wolves, winning 48% of the games in Molineux since taking over in December 2024, the highest of any Wolves manager since the 1940s.

Even if Wolves don’t have the best season in 2024/25, it’s an impressive start for Pereira, who isn’t the one they want to lose.

Still, Brown responded to the attention of football insiders related to the work of manager Benfica.

Can Vitor Pereira be lured to leave the wolf to Benfica?

“Pereira will be interested in Benfica,” he told football insiders.

“He will know if he thinks he can continue to do his job next season with Wolves.

“Benfica is a huge club that gives him the opportunity to go back to manage in his country, so there is always something to consider.

“There is some unstable feeling about the wolf at the moment.

“They lost Cunha, lost Ait-nouri and the manager will know if there is more to follow.

“So, I’m sure he’ll look to the board for assurances about what he will be able to do.

“If they were going to spend money on all these players, maybe he would want to stay, but it seemed like it could be a tough summer for them.

“He wouldn’t have surprised me at all if he walked away from the huge offer on the table.”

A tough time for a wolf?

The Wolves have recently lost some key players, with Pedro Neto joining Chelsea last summer, while Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri left Manchester United and Manchester City respectively this year.

If they lose Pereira, it’s hard to see them survive the Premier League next season.
