US Open Results 2025: UK’s Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski achieve doubles

Elsewhere, Britain’s Marcus Willis also booked his place in the third round, pairing Poland’s Karol Drzewiecki to beat Jackson Withrow and John Peers 3-6 6-3 7-6 (13-11).
After winning the second set, Willis and Drzewiecki retained three breakout points earlier in the third set and won the entire game.
Withrow and his companions then rejected three match points, while Willis and Drzewiecki also lost 10-9 and then switched on their second attempt.
However, Luke Johnson and Dutch partner Sander withdrew in the second round, losing to the Argentinians against Tomas Etcheverry and Camilo Ugo 7-5 7-6 (8-6).
Meanwhile, Britain’s interest in women’s doubles ended when Sonay Kartal and Katie Boulter lost to 12th seeds Zhang Shuai and Ekatarina Alexandrova in three sets.
The British couple came from a match that sent the match to the decider and saved two breakout points in the second game of the third set.
However, as Qatar and Boulter kept the game in 5-4, Shuai and Alexandrova went out of their way to play and then converted their first match point to finish with a 6-4 3-6 3-6 6-4 victory and paired with wildcards Venus Williams and Leylah Fernandez for a meeting.
