US Open 2025 results: Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid lose wheelchair doubles final

Britain lost in the U.S. Open men’s wheelchair championship match against Gustavo Fernandez and Tokito Oda.
Argentina’s Fernandez and Japan’s Oda won their first silverware at the U.S. Open 6-1 2-6 (10-6).
Hewett and Reid won five doubles titles at Flushing Meadows, together seeking the 24th Grand Slam Trophy.
British Hewett lost to Fernandez 6-7 (4-7) 6-1 7-5 in the semifinals of the wheelchair singles match.
Wheelchair tennis returned to New York this year after it was revoked in 2024 due to a conflict with the Paralympic arrangements.
Fernandez and Oda participated in the opening ceremony and won five consecutive games, marking the early mark.
But British Hewett and Scotland’s Reid reacted incredible on their second break to force the 10-point tiebreak for the decision to win the championship.
The top seed cannot be further built on the battle, while Hervet reached into the network and handed the victory to Fernandez and Oda.
