US Open 2025: Jack Draper reveals the extent of “painful” arm injury that haunts him at Wimbledon

Draper has not competed in singles since his second round in early July.
He quit the Canadian Open, Cincinnati Open – these two key ATP tournaments lead to the U.S. Open in order to fully recover from ARM issues.
After starting to have problems during the clay swing, he said that this “gradually gets worse” during the pasture season, which climaxed at All England Club.
However, he was reluctant to blame him for being injured by the failure of veteran rival Marin Cilic.
“My arm closed a little while when I hit the forehand and sent the serve,” Draper said.
“It gradually got worse. Then on the grass it became very painful. I don’t know what I was dealing with.
“After the grass, I got it. It’s one of those people who keep playing and it can get very, very serious.
“That’s not bad, because I can do a lot of other things physically. It’s not that I have to stop completely.”
Draper played with American star Jessica Pegula this week in a new look hybrid doubles match at Flushing Meadows.
While Draper didn’t seem to be giving his all when the two reached the quarterfinals, he said it was “perfect” preparation.
“In tennis, a month and a half is a long time,” he said.
“I definitely feel like I’ve played a lot, not going to the training week.”
