His 21.3% strikeout rate, 7.4% walk rate and 46.7% ground ball rate are all good numbers.
He still has a lot of options, only a few days of service, so if he continues to hang on the 40-man roster, he could be a long-term depth to become a pirate. Currently, he will head to Indianapolis and wait for the next major league opportunity.
As for Rodríguez, his identity is not yet known, but it is a bit ominous to transfer to the 60-day IL. He was placed on the 10-day IL only a few days ago due to inflammation in his right elbow. According to today’s move, Bucs didn’t expect him to come back until August. He missed the entire 2024 season due to UCL surgery on the elbow.
