Twins designated Jonah bride for assignment

Minnesota announces infielder after the Twins lose 3-0 tonight to the Tigers Jonah’s Bride Has been assigned as a job. No corresponding move has been taken, but several members of the twins speculate Reus Lewis Will be activated from the 10-day injury roster ahead of Tuesday’s next game in Miami.
Coincidentally, the bride came to Miami’s twins from Miami in the April deal. This is the third time the bride has been assigned in his career, with the first two DFAs leading to a deal – from A to Marlins in February 2024, then bringing the bride to Twin Cities.
The multiple injuries around the twins infield caused the need for versatility in the bride, who ended up making most of his 33 games with Minnesota, but mostly third base, but several cameos were a first baseman, second baseman, and even four times as a blowout pitcher. Although the bride hits better in Minnesota than he played in Miami, he still has only 0.170/.248/.188 slashes in 2025 at two clubs, both of which have more than 125 plates.
The Bride is a four major league season veteran, and appears to have a bit of a breakthrough with the Marlins in 2024, reaching .276/.357/.461 on 272 PA. Probably, Rebuilding Miami never saw the 29-year-old as a parking agent, and the bride’s lack of minor league options has also reduced his flexibility on the roster.
The position of that option is why Marlins and twins had to designate a bride and expose him to the waiver before trying to send him to a minor and remove him from the 40-person stake. If he clears the waiver this time and the twins move him to Triple-A, the bride doesn’t have past thorough or MLB service hours on his record to refuse a complete rejection of the task.
