1:08 pm: Bobby Nightengale, the Twins plan to recall Matthews’ first major league appearance, according to the Minneapolis Star. He may get the ball in Sunday's series finale. Nightengale added that Festa's last start jumping due to arm fatigue, although the promising Righty plans to start Saturday's Triple-A game.

10:21 am: The correct choice of twins Simeon Woods Richardson According to the team, after yesterday’s difficult start, St. Paul’s triple. Left-handed Relief Kody FundburkHe will stay in his major league roster with the 27th man in the double-headed Minnesota.

Woods Richardson has been the unchanging twin rotation, dating back to April last year. Overall, he has been maintaining a steady attitude, working with a strikeout rate of 20.7% and a walking rate of 8.4% in 171 1/3 innings, but his recent job has been underperformed. Woods Richardson has lasted less than five innings in four of the last five games. He entered the sixth inning and took the Angels back once on April 26, but it was the only time he had completed five frames in the past month.

Woods Richardson's three latest starts are particularly problematic. In addition to the nature of the abbreviation, he was marked as 10 runs and saw his orders suffer a lot. Since the calendar turned to May, Woods Richardson has shot 13 1/3 innings and allowed 10 runs (6.75 ERA) on 15 hits (4 home runs) and 8 walks. He walked with an ugly 15.3% strikeout rate at 13.6% and occupied four of eight home runs in this range.

A team that chooses its fifth starter isn't always headlines, but Woods Richardson's relegation is both a five-pointer and two high-end young starters, with the Twins' Triple-A branch: Right-handed: David Festa and Zebby Matthews. Both ranked in the top 100 prospects for the game before making their debut last year. Matthews remains promising and ranks No. 46 on the most recently updated top 100 list in the U.S.

Festa, 25, took a tough hit in his first two major league games last year, but got settled in his last 11 major leagues with a 3.81 ERA, 30% strikeout rate and 9.6% walking rate. He started playing three games for the twins in early 2025, putting 13 innings into the original 1.38 ERA. At the start of his past 14 Major League Baseball (MLB), 6'6″, 185-pound right start – nicknamed “Slim Reaper” – with a 3.34 ERA, strikeout rate of 29.4% and walking rate of 9.4%. Since being sent back to Triple-A last month, he has lost 11 2/3 innings and beat 3 runs (2.31 ERA) with six hits, without 14 punches.

Matthews, 24, started seven games this year on Triple-A and recorded a 1.93 run average. The 6'5-inch, 225-pound right hit 28.1% of the opponent and walked away with 6.7%. Matthews' 2024 debut is the countdown to Festa's first MLB appearance. He performed well in three games before being beaten nine times on August 31 by the Blue Jays. In his last six games, he shot just 22 2/3 innings and was tagged as 23 times.

Both Festa and Matthews have an impact on the twins’ potential long-term rotation. That's not to say Woods Richardson won't have another chance. He himself is still only 24 years old and is only 25 years old until September. It's also Woods Richardson's last choice year, so the twins need to make his role in the 2026 season. Right-leaning Chris Paddack It is a free agent at the end of the season and of course, damage may occur at any time to create further opportunities.

Currently, the twins have Pablo Lopez,,,,, Joe Ryan,,,,, Bailey Ober Start the game with Paddack. Festa, Matthews and Woods Richardson were all in the 40-man roster and fused together in the last rotation, although it seems Woods Richardson moved to the back of the line at least in the short term.

The twins will start Paddack today (2.51 ERA, 20.2 K%, 7.8 BB% in the last six games) before heading to Ryan (2.74 ERA) and Lopez (2.77 ERA) against the winemakers on Friday and Saturday, respectively. They need to come up with another starter for Sunday's series finale in Milwaukee, as Ober only has three days off. They can also push Ryan and Lopez back to the day as Matthews is scheduled to start tomorrow and Festa will also be fully rested if Friday's game is called.
