It is tempting to think that the highest sports fines were eliminated for shocking behavior.
Perhaps Manchester United footballer Eric Cantona Kung-Fu hit a T-shirt box after kicking a Crystal Palace fan, or even a string of wrong drives.
But in golf and many other sports, reality is different. But, it is fair to say that several players have suffered a tough blow in their pockets over the years.
A superstar, we will soon reveal, once received a penalty, which was a multi-million dollar fine.
“Wild Things” failed his name
It’s no surprise that John Daly has a “wild” in the discussion. In 2010, Daly’s misdemeanor list was released in a 456-page document. Overall, he was fined more than £65,000.
The biggest singles fine was £20,000, for the 1993 exhibition clinic where the audience in the stands hit the ball, he was also fined £13,000 in a 1994 golf match with other player Jeff Roth.
Plum fine has been spiraled
Given how much money is around, it is not surprising to find that the controversial split LIV tour has involved some huge fines.
It is estimated that Liv Golf has paid a $20 million fine to DP World Tour.
This is due to a rule that whenever a liv golfer participates in a competition that is played in the LIV Championship, which is held at the same time as the DP World Tour, they are fined and must play in the future DP World Tour.
Without fines, players will be banned from participating in the DP World Tour.
Former Ryder Cup stars Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood lost their legal battles on the DP World Tour in 2023 for these fines.
But even for Liv, the $20 million change isn’t entirely relaxed, and they announced that players must cough now.
It is estimated that these fines could have been fined $1 million per season.

WD fined $3 million
