Tottenham’s Guardiola is the Bogey of the City

Pep Guardiola had to ask about the term “bogey” when discussing Manchester City’s record against Tottenham Hotspur was slightly worse.

The Spanish tactician was confused when he spoke at a pre-match press conference on Friday when reporters asked if the Spurs were Manchester City’s “bogey side”.

Although Guardiola’s teams often tend to win in big matches against the top six, it is worth noting that they often play against Tottenham Hotspur.

Guardiola faced many different Spurs managers while in charge of the city, but suffered from the suffering of Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte and Ange Postecoglou.

Now he will fight against new THFC manager Thomas Frank and admits he doesn’t know why this fixture is often his side to fight…

When asked about Manchester City, Guardiola was confused at the beginning of the meaning of “bogey”.

The 54-year-old continues to admit that he can’t give too many clear answers to the question anyway, just saying that Tottenham is a good team.

He also pays homage to the top offensive players they often encounter, especially in the past, which is likely a reference to the likes of Harry Kane and son Son Heung-Min.

Manchester City took over the Spurs at Atihad Stadium in an early kick-off on Saturday, which is already the second game between two big six teams we’ve seen this season.

Arsenal beat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford on the opening day last weekend, and now another Manchester club will host another North London club this weekend.
