Tottenham Hotspur now contacts directly to sign the ‘great’ £26m British defender
Tottenham Hotspur has now contacted a “excellent” defender club directly to assess the possibility of a potential deal, a report said.
Although Spence has been updated
Tottenham Hotspurs had relatively good storage rates in the defender division as Thomas Frank took the fateful udogie on the opposite side at left back and Pedro Porro, while DJED SPENCE was able to play on both sides.
Despite his tough start to his career with the Spurs, Spurs has now done enough to win a new long-term contract, and the defender admits he is happy to extend his accommodation in north London.
That said, given Spence’s recent appearance on the left has been predominantly on the recent left, Frank may want to bring another defender to offer Porro a right-handed competition, and Manchester City’s Rico Lewis has recently been identified as a potential option.
Last week, the intermediary made a potential trading link with Lilywhites, and Frank’s party made direct contact with Man City, immediately raising their interest.
This is according to a report from Offside, which noted that Tottenham has now asked Manchester City about Lewis but may be fiercely vying for the signature of the All-Back, and many rival Premier League clubs are also keen on.
Indeed, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest have all taken steps for the 20-year-old, and the tricky trees have even submitted offers worth €30 million (£26 million) that were knocked out by Bruce.
That said, while being passionate about keeping young people in the process, he said recently: “I think he’ll stay. I think. He told me. But, I said, maybe tomorrow, after tomorrow, it’ll change.”
“Great” Lewis may challenge Polo’s starting point
Once praised by Guardiola as “wonderful”, the British star managed to repay his manager’s belief in him by establishing his important players and made 28 appearances in the Premier League in the 2024-25 campaign.
During this time, the buried defender also showed his versatility, and while the right back was England International’s five-time favorite status, he showed his versatility in the left back and even midfield.
As a result, Lewis is likely to be a direct competitor to Porro, with his potential to usurp the Spaniards for a long time, considering that the city ace is one of the “best” players he has trained.
That said, as Porro has performed well in both offense and defense over the past year, it may be difficult for the All-Defender to replace the 25-year-old at Tottenham Hotspur.
