Chelsea prepares bid for 'sensation', £50 million
The transfer policy of Chelsea under owner Todd Boehly has seen them signing a large number of 21-year-old stars over the past few years. This has been the real focus of the Blues since Boehly became the majority owner of Stamford Bridge, and one of the best examples is Cole Palmer, who said in October was “the best player in the Premier League”.
But the England International team, which was a sensational Chelsea shirt, isn't the only one who is outstanding under 21 at Stamford Bridge. An example is Belgian midfielder Romeo Lavia, described as “one of the best midfielders” when manager Enzo Maresca is fully fit.
Well, if a transfer rumor is believed, Chelsea might want to list talented players as under 21 clubs.
Chelsea's latest under-21 transfer target
As we know, the Blues are not afraid of young players who bring high ratings. 2025 is no exception, with the deal between attacking Mrs. Kendry Paez and Estevao Williams and young midfielder Dario Essugo already agreed.
The next player to be added to that list might be Dean Huijsen. The 20-year-old Bournemouth central defender has ties to Fabrizio Romano with Bruce. A highly supported journalist reported that Bruce was “ready to trigger” Huijsen’s £50m offering clause and hopes to reach the deal around next month.
However, they are not the only aspects that try to sign Huijsen. The Spanish international team is also the target of Spanish giant Real Madrid, and Bruce's Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool will also seek to trigger his release clause.
Why Huijsen becomes a good signing
There is no doubt that winning the game to sign Hueyson this summer will be difficult for Chelsea, but if they manage, they will add an elite talent to their team. Football analyst Ben Mattinson said Espanyol was a “sensational” player.
He has been behind the Cherry this season and he has performed well in top flights. He played 34 games in all competitions, scored 30 games in the top flight and scored 3 times.
The 20-year-old machine has been part of one of the best defenses in the Premier League this season and Chelsea will certainly encourage Chelsea. According to Sofascore, Bournemouth admitted 43 goals to improve only two aspects, and they retained eight clean sheets.
If Huijsen signs Huijsen this summer, it might be ideal for West Londoners if they missed signing Marc Guehi. According to the latest report from TeamTalk, Newcastle United “surpassed” Chelsea in the game and signed their former academy star from Crystal Palace.
Like Bournemouth's Spanish defender, Guehi has been a central figure in the Eagles' defense and has been a great season so far.
He played 43 games in all games, scored three goals and played the FA Cup final with Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
Cost certainly won’t be a factor in the decision of the blues this summer. There is only a difference of £4 million between the two, and the palace reportedly wants £46 million Guehi. So it seems that Chelsea will definitely make a decision based on what they think is a better player.
Statistics on FBREF actually show that Huijsen may have better signatures than Guehi. For example, in the Premier League this season, the Cherry defender averaged 3.33 tackles and interceptions per 90 minutes, while Huijsen had 2.62 tackles and interceptions per game.

Of course, there is a lot of evidence to support the fact that Huijsen will provide a better complement to the players at Stamford Bridge. His quality will certainly improve the ceiling in western London.
Although £50 million is a huge amount of money that can be invested, there is no doubt that the quality of Chelsea players will sign.
