In a video posted to X (formerly Twitter), McKay explained that the documents show that between 2021 and 2024, more than $81 million was paid to a company called “Win50” as a “license and rights fee.”
McKay explained that the Oilers Foundation told them that Win50 paid all the fees to carry out the draw, which was the “business cost.”
McKay also explained in the article that less than 20% of ticket sales are available for charity.
McKay ended the video saying there was no service offered about Win50’s profits, and the Oilers Foundation claims it made substantial investments in Alberta’s charitable works and comply with all government regulations.
