The Metropolis is willing to trade from the infield depth

The Mets are willing to trade from their major league infields as they seek help elsewhere in the roster. Obviously, Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso There is nowhere. They can’t trade either Jeff McNeillhis season is a number of contributors. If the deal comes together, that would involve one of their four young major league infielders: Brett Baty,,,,, Ronnie Mauricio,,,,, Mark Vientos or Luisangel Acuña.

These players can be traced back to trade rumors in the offseason at least. The 25-year-old Baty has long seemed to be the most likely move, as the former highest prospect has not become the offensive player envisioned by many assessors. The left-handed batsman has a .236/.292/.419 batting line in 251 sets this season. Although these are the best numbers of his career, they are essentially the league average. Batty gets there in a pretty strict way. Once McNeil returned from the season’s opening injury roster, his April terrible resulted in the Mets cutting him briefly tripled. Baty was recalled in May, and when he was recalled in June, he returned to June, and to the bats on the left and right.

Baty is a natural third baseman, adding a second base to his defensive repertoire this season. His average second baseman is league average, slightly above average at the hot corners in a small sample. Barty has been a useful player overall, but he still hasn’t established himself as a regular in Division 1. After this game, he will no longer be eligible for arbitration and will be under the control of the club until the 2029 season.

Vientos, now 25 years old last season, seems to have become the core work. In the regular season, he connected on 27 home runs with a great .266/.322/.516 slash. Vientos hit .327 and added five long goals in 13 playoff games. He has not attacked at any time this year. The correct batsman dropped to 265 and showed in the appearance of .221/.275/.352. Vientos’ average exit rate and hard contact rate aren’t much different from last season, but his bat speeds have slowed down and his actual power generation has fallen.

This is especially worrying for a player who doesn’t have much to come back in the game. Vientos is not a great athlete, his defensive third baseman is below average. Ideally he should be first base, but Alonso’s presence won’t happen for at least the rest of the season (it could be out if the Mets re-signed Alonso in free agency again). He is mainly a designated batsman Jesse Winker Fighting against back problems. Vientos can control over the other four seasons, so trading him now would be a selling move, but he is no longer in the minor league choice and hasn’t offered much value yet.

Mauricio is a tool rev basketball with a very radical approach and his first season is back from the ACL tear. He hit .218/.288/.376 with four home runs in 31 major league games. The 6’4-inch infielder is working as the main third baseman, while Baty is mainly in Keystone. If Mauricio, 24, spent three more days in Triple-A this season, his last choice year would run out of his last year. He can control at least four seasons.

Acuña, 23, has been a lightweight utility company. He hit .240/.293/.286 and had no home runs on 169 trips to the plate. His .260/.303/.356 slashes in 640 career three sets were not good. He is the best defender of this group and he only respects Lindor. Perhaps another team thinks there is enough defensive ability, that is, Acuña may be the low-end conventional ability of shortstops. He also has an option, but – similar to Mauricio – if he stayed in Triple-A for two days this year, he would run out of it. This may be the decision to recall his decision before the All-Star break. He really only gets a chance on the left-handed pitch, so his current usage doesn’t give him much chance to improve the plate.

All of these players may have less trade value than they do in winter, except Baty. Still, there are teams interested in all teams, but they are unlikely to reach an agreement for Impact players. Sammon wrote that Mets are usually prioritizing bullpen upgrades if someone in this group attracts teams like Pirates (David Bednar,,,,, Dennis Santana) or Rocky Mountains (Jack Bird) That’s the pitch for shopping relief and requires short-term offensive help.
