Taylor Fritz won his first Lexus ATP Head2head win in four attempts against Carlos Alcaraz, his first win in the PIF ATP rankings to win a perfect Saturday at Team World in Laver Cup.

In a 6-3, 6-2 shock, the Americans achieved a strong game in the first game of the New World, which was determined from the benchmark and put constant pressure on the Spaniard from the frontcourt. Fritz won 16 of 20 net points and ended the game appropriately as the forehand volley winner, looking more like Vice Captain Patrick Rafter than to delight Captain Andre Agassi.

“We talked all day long. It was an honor to play under Andre,” Fritz said after the game. “We both love to share our thoughts on the game. I know what I have to do here tonight. The question is whether I want to do that.”

Inspired by the San Francisco crowd, Roger Federer brought the game to Alcaraz with Golden State star Stephen Curry went to toss a coin with Roger Federer, which made the roar growl. According to Infosys ATP statistics, he saved the only two breakpoints he faced in the first game and broke the final four games of the game with a famous victory.

“I’ve played Carlos three times and he broke me in the first game every time,” the American added. “Getting rid of the first game was huge. I just made sure I didn’t guess myself the second time.”

In the recent meeting, Alcaraz won a tense four-game match in the Wimbledon semifinal in July this year. Prior to that, Espanyol won consecutive games in the Laver Cup in Berlin last year.

Fritz’s victory was 7-3 in the first-13 game, scoring two points each Saturday. Earlier in the day, Alex de Minaur defeated Alexander Zverev, while Francisco Cerundolo defeated Holger Rune.

He is playing in his first singles match and returning to No. 1 in the PIF ATP rankings since Alcaraz won his sixth Grand Slam singles title at the U.S. Open. The defeat won a 13-game winning streak, which dates back to the start of his trophy at the Cincinnati ATP Masters 1000 event.
