Sunderland now asks attackers who signed over £23m before Leeds

Sunderland is believed to want to sign an “elite” offensive player in the summer transfer window with rival Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

Sunderland agrees to Alderete fee

It’s been a relentless summer for the Black Cats on the market, and Regis Le Bris adds a lot of depth to his side before returning to the Premier League.

Sunderland’s latest member looks likely to be Getafe Defender Omar Alderete, who reportedly reached a £10m deal to agree to sign the 28-year-old. Paraguay started 34 La Liga games last season and proved to be a key figure, winning three aerial matches per game.

Black Cats supporters will certainly hope the club’s summer business is still unfinished, but Sevilla centre-back Loic Bade has also been closely linked to the Bright Stadium in recent days.

Now, a new name is brought to Sunderland as they hope to bring more quality on the other end of the stadium ahead of Saturday’s Premier League opener at West Ham.

according to Il Messaggero [via Sport Witness]Sunderland took steps to lead Rome striker Artem Dovbyk, with the promotion of Leeds United.

The 28-year-old is wanted by both the promoted Premier League club and West Ham, whose current club demands his signature this summer for more than £23 million, with the Black Cat asking.

Dovbyk is an experienced attacker who can add much-needed firepower to Sunderland’s side, scoring 17 goals in 45 games at Roma, not to mention 11 of Ukraine’s 36 blocks.

Attacking the Ace was right at his peak, so the Black Cats signed a young man who was still mature, and journalist Zach Lowy described him as an “elite” player.

“Victor Osimhen will be the most popular center forward this summer, but I don’t think Artem Dovbyk will be too far behind. He is approaching his strengths in his career as CF and it turns out that he is not only a great finisher, but also an elite target with linking abilities.”

If Sunderland can beat Leeds and West Ham to get Dovbyk’s signature, it will feel like an added bonus, especially in another promotion last season, as they have already done with midfielders Habib Diarra and Noah Sadiki.

If Le Bris’ men have a chance to avoid returning to the championship, there will be a lot of target threats, and Dovbyk may be a powerful addition to helping the issue.
