Stars sign Radek Faksa to sign 3-year contract – Hockey Writer – Stars Deal

The Dallas Stars united with center Radek Faksa for a three-year contract with an average annual profit value (AAV) of $2 million.

Dallas was ranked 13th in 2012, and Faksa previously played for Stars from 2015 to 2024, appearing in over 600 games and posting 200 points. He has spent the past season with the St. Louis Blues, scoring five goals and 15 points in 70 games and five points in seven playoff games.

Faksa offers power forward style

Faksa’s scale and statistics accurately show what the team expects and wants from the next six centers. He is 6-foot-3 and 213 pounds and effectively uses his own size. A season’s career high of 17 goals and 21 assists were modest, but he was strong on hockey and excellent in front of the net. Defensively, he was physically not over-punished and was able to take a penalty kill, helping him win the Selke Trophy votes in four different seasons.

Despite Faksa’s playing style, he is strong and reliable in the roster. The 12 games he missed last season were the ones he missed most in a single season in his career. His team can usually count on him to bring his body, grinding style and commitment to hockey every night, which Dallas is already familiar with and can now experience again.

The stars bring back a familiar face

On rejoining the Stars, Faksa became a rare player, leaving his long-term organization out of the season before returning immediately. He is a home-based player in Dallas, working in their minor league system for three years before making his debut with them in 2015. He remains a staple of their roster for the next nine seasons, and he has been one of 13 players they have played at least 600 games for them since they moved to Texas. Entering the final year of the contract, the star sent him to St. Louis for a championship deal.

Since Faksa has been away from Dallas for a year, there has not been much change. The star remains one of the best teams in the Western Conference and still expects to compete with others, especially after the acquisition of Mikko Rantanen. Faksa is part of a consistent part of Dallas’ past few playoff appearances, and he should be able to slide on the third or fourth line and help stars push the Stanley Cup title, who have come so close to many times over the past decade.
