Skinner leads Oilers to 4-0 win over Kraken – Hockey Writer – Edmonton Oilers

The Seattle Kraken host the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, November 29th for their second game of the season. In the first game on October 25, the Kraken team won 3-2. While Seattle may have wanted to repeat that success, Stuart Skinner had other plans, leading the Oilers to a 4-0 sweep victory.
game review
Midway through the first period, Mason Marchment sat due to goaltender interference. The Oilers had less than a minute left when Evan Bouchard faked a shot that sent Joey Daccord into the left side of the net. Instead, he passed the puck to Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who put the puck into the yawning cage.
Twelve minutes into the second period, Andrew Mangiapane skated the puck into the Oilers zone. He passed it to Leon Draisaitl in center ice. He quickly lifted the puck past Joey Daccord for Edmonton’s second goal of the night.
With two minutes left in the second quarter, Adam Larsson sat down to cross-check Matt Savoie. With just over a minute left before the Superman advantage, Nugent-Hopkins passed the puck to Draisaitl. He shot and Zach Hyman redirected the ball in front of the net.
Six minutes into the third period, Hyman and Connor McDavid slipped the puck into the Edmonton zone on turnovers. Hyman passed the ball to McDavid, whose shot bounced off the iron and into the net.
Stuart Skinner made 26 saves and recorded his ninth career shutout to lead the Oilers to a 4-0 victory. The two teams currently have one win each in this season’s series and are tied.
Next step
