Jannik Sinner ranks alongside Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in the hard-court history books.
With Sunday’s victory over Daniil Medvedev in the BNP Paribas Open final, Sinner has now won all the “big titles” on hard court: six ATP Masters 1000 events, the Nitto ATP Finals, the Australian Open and the US Open. Only Federer and Djokovic have done the same thing.
Andre Agassi has won all five Masters 1000 events in his career on hard courts: Indian Wells, Miami, Canada, Cincinnati and Madrid. The American also won two hard-court majors and the Nitto ATP Finals.
Federer completed his set at the 2014 Rolex Shanghai Masters and Djokovic completed his set at the 2018 Cincinnati Open, making him the first player to win all nine Masters 1000 events.
Sinner lifted his first Masters 1000 trophy in Toronto in 2023 and has won the remaining hard-court trophies at the elite level in less than three years.
The Italian has won 22 consecutive sets at the Masters 1000 event, the second-longest winning streak in the series’ history (since 1990). Djokovic won 24 consecutive Masters 1000 sets from the second round of the 2016 BNP Paribas Open to the second round of the Rolex Masters that year. Alcaraz won 21 consecutive sets from the second round of the 2023 BNP Paribas Open to the semifinals of the Miami Open hosted by ETA.
